In this project I combined digital illustration and hands on printing. I drew a series of old Hollywood inspired portraits and added phrases that used to be popular. I had big 5x5-inch rubber stamps made. With large Bristol board sheets, I used standard ink pads to start, which ended up with a clean, but handmade look (image 2). Then I experimented with thicker ink from tubes (the type used in linoleum prints), and with a small hand roller applied the ink to the stamps. These posters ended up with texture and more handmade irregularities (image 1), which was the goal. The final image shows designs created for packaging and stationary.
